AI employees, managed for your outcomes
Struan runs AI employees across your business - all managed through SurgeCare™ with SLAs and full operational oversight.

How we are different
Built by business leaders
We've run companies, hired thousands of people, and lived through five technology waves that didn't deliver. SurgeCare™ is designed from real business experience, not theory.
Fully managed
Every AI employee includes SurgeCare™. That means deployment, SLAs, monitoring, and safe updates — without you needing to build an internal team.
Adoption built in
We don't drop off tools and walk away. Each role has a clear owner, success test, and change process so your team actually uses it — and you see results from day one.
Outcomes, not features
We track what matters: time saved, cycle times, error rates, and cost to serve. That's how we prove value, not by listing technical features.
Clear accountability
You get dashboards, change logs, and incident reports you can share with you.
Compliance by design
Every deployment is UK GDPR-first, with audit logging, safe updates, and clear data handling. That means your AI employees meet compliance standards from day one.
Introducing SurgeCare™: How it works
Every AI employee comes with SurgeCare™ - our managed service model that ensures adoption, safe operation, and measurable outcomes from day one.
From first scope to weekly reports, SurgeCare™ keeps your AI employees delivering.
Discovery
We agree outcomes, map processes, and set the baseline. No vague goals - clear measures from the start.
Build
We configure the agent to your workflows with guardrails in place. Secure, role-specific, and signed off before launch.
Go-Live
We deploy into your live environment with SLAs, monitoring, and rollback plans. No disruption, no surprises.
Improve
We track performance against the baseline and optimise weekly. Reports and change logs are shared with you.
Why we built Struan
Over the past 25 years of running companies, we've hired thousands of people, and worked with thousands of technology providers to help them grow their businesses. Across every major wave of "digital transformation" we saw the same problem: costs and promises up front, but poor adoption and little real value. Struan and SurgeCare™ exist to stop this cycle repeating.
Here's what we lived through:
Wave 1: Dot-com and early CRM (1999–2003)
Everyone was told they needed a website and a CRM system. Projects ran late, went over budget, and staff struggled to use the tools. Boards saw costs rise, but adoption never followed. The promise of "digital" turned into years of sunk investment with little business value.
Wave 2: SaaS and marketing automation (2006–2012):
Cloud software arrived promising lower costs and fast results. In practice, SMEs ended up with a patchwork of tools that didn't connect. Sales and marketing leaders were left with bloated dashboards, poor data quality, and pressure to show ROI that never materialised.
Wave 3: Mobile and BYOD app stacks (2012–2016):
Mobile apps and "bring your own device" were sold as productivity boosters. In reality, workflows became fragmented, security risks multiplied, and management teams lost oversight. What looked modern on paper created new headaches without delivering measurable gains for SMEs.
Wave 4: Big data and AI 1.0 (2014–2019):
The hype around "big data" pushed firms to invest in data lakes and predictive models. For SMEs, these platforms were expensive to build, slow to implement, and required specialist teams they didn't have. Most ended up with unused dashboards - graveyards of charts that nobody relied on to run the business.
Wave 5: RPA and low-code 'digital transformation' (2017–2022):
Robotic process automation and low-code platforms promised to remove manual work. In reality, bots were brittle, broke whenever processes changed, and staff started buying their own workarounds outside IT's control. Costs went up, compliance risks grew, and leadership teams got the opposite of the resilience they were promised. Leadership teams faced rising support costs and compliance concerns - the opposite of the resilience they were sold.
Today: Autonomous AI agents
The technology is now capable of taking on multi-step work reliably. But without a managed approach, history will repeat itself: pilots that stall, staff who don't adopt, and boards that don't see outcomes. SurgeCare™ makes sure this wave is different - by focusing on adoption, accountability, and measurable results from day one.
Day-one deliverables
AI role plan: A clear design of your first AI employee - what it will do, how it fits into your processes, and the outcomes it will deliver.
Live dashboard: A simple interface to see performance in real time - volumes handled, time saved, and error rates.
Baseline report: An initial report showing where you started and the first set of measurable gains to expect.
Team training and support: Your staff get practical onboarding, and SurgeCare™ provides ongoing support from day one.
Secure connections: Your AI employee is connected safely into your existing systems, with compliance and data protection built in.

Who we are not.
We are not about failed pilots.
No endless experiments that look good in a demo but never scale. We deliver working solutions that prove value quickly.
We are not just another consultant.
We don't just advise; we roll up our sleeves and implement. We are hands-on partners, not PowerPoint presenters.
We are not a budget black hole.
No hidden fees or scope creep. You get fixed pricing that delivers more value than it costs.
We are not here to sell hype.
If AI isn't the answer, we'll say so. We focus on outcomes, not the latest trend.
We are not one-size-fits-all.
Your business is unique. Our approach is tailored, not templated.
We don't confuse activity with results.
We track what matters: time saved, costs reduced, real outcomes delivered.

Your data. Your agents. No lock-in tricks.
We don't believe in holding clients hostage. You keep full ownership of your data, results, and any custom agents built for your business. If you leave, we decommission cleanly and hand everything back.
Your data stays yours
You keep full ownership of your business data. SurgeCare™ only uses it to run your AI employees — never for resale or external use.
Our platform stays ours
We retain ownership of the underlying platform and frameworks that make the AI employees work, so we can maintain and improve them.
Your agents are your asset
Any custom AI employees designed for your business belong to you. They operate as your asset, built on our platform.
Clear contracts
Agreements set out ownership, usage rights, and data handling in plain English. No grey areas, no hidden terms.
Strict confidentiality
Your information, processes, and performance data are protected with the highest confidentiality and full audit trails.
Most clients stay because SurgeCare™ delivers measurable outcomes and peace of mind — not because they're forced to.
The difference: Tools vs. outcomes
Most AI vendors sell software and leave you to manage it. Struan with SurgeCare™ delivers outcomes and runs it for you.
Vendors sell models or generic platforms, leaving you to figure out how they deliver value.
We deliver outcomes - AI employees that reduce costs and free up your team.
Software is handed over and your team is expected to manage set-up and operations.
Fully managed from day one - we deploy, run, and maintain it for you.
Adoption is often left to internal champions without structured support.
Adoption is built in. Every role has a clear owner, success test, and acceptance plan.
Your IT/Ops team is left with the workload of scaling and maintaining it.
We run the operations - infrastructure, monitoring, updates, and reporting.
Adjustments usually mean new projects, added cost, and delays.
Most changes are included - AI employees adapt with your business at no extra cost.
Limited visibility into how systems work or how data is used.
Full transparency: you see dashboards, logic, data usage, and outcomes. Nothing hidden.
